Las Lagunas.

Las Lagunas - locally known as Spew Pits - is a short, violent reef break sitting on a super-shallow uneven reef shelf just south of the old Cotillo harbour. The wave produces thick-lipped barrels that pitch hard off the reef, with a vertical takeoff and freight-train speed that leaves almost no room for error. Rights are the favoured direction, typically running 0-50m before the section closes fast. The break fires best on north swells with a wide swell window spanning west through east, but the N quadrant is what unlocks the best right-handers. Mid tide is the key window: too low and the reef is dangerously exposed, too high and the wave loses its shape and punch. Wave faces reach 1.8-3.7m on optimal swells. The spot sits at medium consistency given its broad swell window, though conditions need to align precisely across tide, swell direction, and size before it delivers. Access is straightforward - park opposite the water deposit beside the playground near the old Cotillo harbour and view the break before committing.
