Surf spot guide · Fuerteventura, Spain
Expert-only right reef on Fuerteventura's north coast, firing hollow barrel sections on W-NW swells at high tide only.
Suicidios is a right-hand submerged reef break on the exposed north coast of Fuerteventura, 1km west of Generosa. The wave wraps onto uneven reef and produces fast, punchy sections with barrel potential when conditions align - W to NW swells of 2m or more, clean SE offshores, and the tide at or near high. Below three-quarter tide the reef goes critical and the name earns its weight: the inside section becomes a shallow slab with no margin for error on a wipeout. At the right tide the wave stands up quickly with a demanding takeoff, then runs through barrel sections before fattening on the inside. Boils and irregular reef cause sudden changes in wall shape mid-ride. The swell window is specific - W is optimal, NW works at larger sizes. The combination of tide, swell angle, and size comes together rarely, keeping consistency low and the standard high. When it does go, expect a handful of experienced locals who know the reef. Roadside access north of Correlejo, free parking available.
Shallow slab where the reef writes its own takeoff window, demanding and unforgiving.

Rarely crowded. The expert-only conditions and fickle nature mean the lineup is almost always small - a handful of experienced surfers on the best days, often empty.
Raw, committing, expert only

+9 MORE →Only paddle out at high tide - the reef is a serious hazard below three-quarter tide and the wave loses its shape entirely at low
Optimal swell is due W, not NW - NW works at larger sizes but W swells produce cleaner, more consistent walls
Check from the road before paddling out, the lineup looks different from the water and the boils are hard to read on your first session
