Xivares.

Xivares is a semi-urban sand-bottom beachbreak on the Asturian coast, spread across three coves that link at low tide to form roughly 800 metres of shoreline. Pure sand bottom produces a_frame peaks that peel as lefts and rights with medium speed and moderate push. Wave length rarely exceeds 50 metres and the faces are open rather than hollow. The break needs a northwest, north or northeast swell of at least 1 metre and cleans up quickly on a southeast or southerly offshore. Low to mid tide is the preferred window: banks firm up into distinct peaks as the tide drops, while high tide flattens the break. Crowd pressure is moderate year-round, picking up in summer when Gijon day-trippers arrive. Facilities include restrooms, showers, food options, and a seasonal lifeguard from June to September. Parking sits directly behind the beach. Nearby San Lorenzo, El Mongol and Penarrubia offer harder waves for surfers ready to step up.
