Playón de Bayas.

Playón de Bayas is a long, dune-backed sand beach sitting on the western edge of the Castrillón coastline in Asturias, exposed enough to the Atlantic to receive W through N swells while staying sheltered from the summer NE sea breezes that flatten nearby breaks. The beach produces shifting a-frame peaks across the full tide range thanks to a sandy bottom that responds well to incoming pulses. Waves are well-covered and medium-paced rather than hollow, running 50 to 100 metres on a decent swell, with the takeoff vertical enough to warrant commitment despite the generally forgiving character. The western end of the beach, known as Los Quebrantos, sits beside a jetty that pins the sandbanks and consistently produces longer left-handers; it is the most structured section of the beach on W and NW swells. Optimal conditions combine a 1 to 2.5 metre NW swell with a light SE offshore and a lower or incoming tide to tighten up the banks.
