Aguilar is a sand-bottom beachbreak near Cudillero, where rocky outcrops shape more defined sandbars than a flat beach would produce. Peaks break left and right at a medium pace - mellow, well-covered, no hollow sections, no real power. It is a forgiving break that suits beginners and anyone seeking uncrowded water. The spot needs NW to N swells; west swells are blocked by the headland and rarely produce rideable surf. Banks function across all tide stages. Rocky outcrops pin the sandbars but also mean the layout shifts seasonally, so scout from the beach before paddling. Access is direct from the road, with free parking and a beach cafe on site. A lifeguard is present in season. This spot is almost never crowded - a handful of surfers at most on any given day, drawing mainly beginners and the occasional intermediate looking for an easy session away from the busier beaches at Salinas or Xago down the coast.
