Cadavedo is a sheltered, east-facing sand-bottom beachbreak tucked into the Asturian coastline, oriented to catch energy only when NW to N swells wrap around the headland. The wave produces shifting peaks with a mix of lefts and rights across a 50-100m stretch, running at medium pace and with well-covered depth rather than hollow sections. A righthand reefbreak element activates on the eastern edge when swell pushes into the bay. Because the beach faces east, it stays protected from the prevailing westerly Atlantic storms, which means it can be one of the rare functional options when the rest of the coast turns blown out - but that shelter also filters out smaller, cleaner days, keeping consistency low. Swells need to reach the 1.2-2.4m range before the spot wakes up, with low to mid tide producing the best shape. Offshore winds blow from the southwest. The surrounding environment is clean and rural, with the small village of Cadavedo sitting just behind the beach - a campsite is accessible nearby.
