Igueste de San Andres is a left pointbreak inside a sheltered bay on Tenerife northeast coast. Large NE swells wrap around the headland and wall up into long, hollow lefts peeling over boulders and sand for 200 to 500 metres. The takeoff is vertical and bowly through the middle, producing fast barrel sections before backing off inside. The break handles northerly winds well, making it one of the few northeast-coast options when the same winds shut down exposed breaks along the coast. Optimal swell is NE, and it performs best at overhead-plus, handling up to 3 metres. Higher tides fill the shallower boulders at the takeoff and are the most workable window. Consistency is low and the combination of infrequent conditions and high quality means the lineup is always packed when it fires. Submerged boulders are present throughout the takeoff zone, and a strong rip runs along the boulder shelf on larger swells. Free parking sits at the access point with no facilities on site.
