Los dos Hermanos is a submerged reef break sitting in open water off the north coast of Tenerife, just east of Punta del Hidalgo. The spot catches the full force of any north-to-northeast swell rolling in from the Atlantic and responds with a-frame peaks that pitch into fast, throaty barrel sections running between 100 and 200 metres. Both lefts and rights are on offer but the rights tend to wall up more consistently and hold shape through their length. The wave demands a medium swell to start organising properly over the uneven reef and scales comfortably into the double-overhead-plus range, making it one of the most size-tolerant breaks on the island. High tide is mandatory: at lower water the reef is too exposed and the wave loses its shape entirely. Entry and exit require reading the rip lines carefully, as currents run hard along the reef edge and intensify with size. Boils mid-wave mark the shallower reef heads and call for precise foot placement.
