La Derecha de Almaciga Surf Spot Guide — Tenerife, Spain

La Derecha de Almaciga is a righthand sand-bottom point tucked into a compact cove on the remote north coast of Tenerife, accessible from the village of Almaciga via the winding Carretera de Taganana. The wave unspools across 50 to 100 metres of sand and pebble bottom, offering a slopey, well-covered face that backs off and wells up through its length rather than throwing out a hard lip. Takeoffs are straightforward, with vertical entry possible on the steeper inside sections, making it a natural fit for surfers building cutback and trimming skills. Wave speed sits in the medium range, and the ride favours long, drawn-out turns over quick rail changes. The break responds to a wide arc of swell from west through north to northeast and functions across all tide stages, giving it one of the more reliable windows on an island where consistent spots can be scarce.
