La Salvaje.

La Salvaje - also known as Playa Barinatxe - is a highly consistent sand-bottom beachbreak on the Sopelana coastline west of Bilbao. The break features two semi-permanent peaks that produce mostly left-handers, with the wave pitching up steeply off the bowly sections before opening into workable walls. The combination of a well-covered sandy bottom and fast, slopey faces makes it forgiving for intermediate surfers while still delivering quality rides on the right swell. It fires reliably on W to NW swells in the 0.3-2.4m range, with mid to high tide the preferred window - the incoming tide in particular triggers the peaks at their best. At full high the wave can go flat and slopey; low tide tends to expose the beach too much and drains the banks. Entry and exit are straightforward from the main beach. The spot is open to a wide swell window from W through N, which drives its high consistency. Surfline and Mondo both confirm this is one of the most regularly surfed beaches in the Basque Country.
