Right-hand pointbreak near Barbate that walls up on solid Atlantic swell across three linkable sections and fast boil-driven barrels.
Yerbabuena is a right-hand pointbreak on an uneven reef outside Barbate, funnelling Atlantic swell across a SW to NW window. Three distinct sections can link when tide and swell align, with rides reaching 200 to 500 metres. The upper section is the most critical: fast, steep and boil-driven, demanding a vertical entry and sharp positioning. The middle section is the most popular, offering longer walls and barrel sections, while the lower shoulder gives a more forgiving exit. On a big swell at high tide, water rushing down the point builds immense currents that make holding position near the top difficult. NW is the declared optimal within the SW to NW window, squaring up the faces cleanest with a northerly offshore. The reef stays well-covered in normal swell but boils surface on the upper section with submerged rock close beneath. Visitors should start on the middle peak, read the pecking order before working toward the top, and assess the current before paddling out.

Crowds are frequent and heavily local, especially at the middle and upper peaks. The three-section layout spreads numbers on smaller swell, but when it pumps the pack concentrates at the top and priority is enforced.
