It fires across all tides but incoming swell direction and the bay's geometry mean the wave has a narrower sweet spot than a straight-shot beachbreak. The spot is only as consistent as the SW swell train, which makes it seasonal and variable - expect long flat periods between swells. Water quality is a known concern with documented poor conditions linked to runoff from Puerto de Santa Maria.
