Molho Leste is a right-hand wedge that detonates off the east breakwater of Peniche harbour, redirecting swell energy into a thick, fast barrel that draws direct comparisons to its neighbour Supertubos, just 1km to the south. Breaking over sand, the wave pitches hard and quickly, demanding committed air-drop entries and the speed to outrun a crunching lip across sections running 50-100m. The power objects tell the story: bowly, wedging, thick and wrapping - this is not a wave that allows hesitation. It needs a larger swell than Supertubos to fire properly, working best on solid SW energy in the 1.2-3m range. Northerly winds, which would ruin many beach breaks, actually clean it up here thanks to the jetty's orientation. Entry is straightforward from the beach beside the breakwater, though rip currents run along the wall on the incoming tide and demand awareness. Crowd levels are the highest in the Peniche area - the spot draws a tight local crew who treat it as their own, and the localism is the most intense of any break on this stretch of coast. Water quality near the harbour mouth can be an issue after rain.
