Pico da Mota is an exposed sandy beach break with multiple left- and right-hand peaks. It is manageable and fun on smaller, clean days but becomes fast, hollow, powerful and occasionally tubular as swell increases. The spot typically handles west to northwest swell and favors easterly offshore winds. Mid tide is the safest general starting point, while shifting banks can change the best peak. It is unpatrolled, has no on-site facilities, and is generally quieter than Baleal and central Peniche.
