Ilha do Farol is an exposed sandy beach break on the ocean-facing beach beside Farol village. Peaks can form both left and right, with rights also commonly favoured. South-sector swells provide the most suitable wave direction, while northwest winds are offshore. The wave can be fast and ledgy, and the break sits beside the Barra Faro-Olhão entrance, where water traffic and currents require attention.
