Ilha Deserta is an exposed, open sand beach break on Praia da Ilha da Barreta, producing lefts and rights. It is a fast wave, with rides reaching roughly 150-300 metres, and no fixed reef or point is identified. South swell is favoured, with southeast and southwest also working; northerly winds are offshore. All tide stages can work, although the spot is often small and conditions vary by season. The lineup is generally uncrowded, but currents around the harbour, bar and connecting channel require care.
