Surf spot guide · Lombok, Indonesia
Ekas Inside is a mellow, approachable A-frame reef break in a scenic southeast Lombok bay, suitable for all skill levels including intermediates and longboarders.
Ekas Inside, also known as Inside Ekas Bay, is a sheltered and consistent A-frame reef break located in a picturesque bay on Lombok’s southeast coast. The wave offers long, playful lefts and rights over a deep coral reef, with slower, fatter waves that provide a forgiving environment ideal for beginners, intermediates, and advanced surfers alike. It works well on all tides but thrives on a rising tide, producing regular wave lengths between 150 and 300 meters. The break is best during the dry season from April to October when southeast winds create offshore conditions. Access is primarily by boat from Awang port, as the reef is set far from shore, and the lineup is typically uncrowded with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Ekas Inside is considered one of the safest reef breaks in Lombok due to its deep reef, though surfers should still be cautious of shallow sections and occasional sea urchins, especially at lower tides. Nearby accommodations and activities such as diving and skateboarding add to the appeal of the area.
