The spot features a foot-burning black sand beachbreak that shifts from mushy shoulders at low tide to a heavy shore-dump at high tide, with mid tide often providing more manageable, glassy waves, especially in the mornings. While the sandy bottom makes it safer than many Balinese reefs, strong currents, occasional shorebreaks, and a rivermouth that can bring pollution to the southern peaks add challenges. The wave offers long, peaky lefts and rights, working best with a solid south or southwest swell and some north wind during the wet season, but it does not handle surf much above head high. Early mornings with offshore winds remain ideal, and the spot is best suited for beginners and those looking to improve. The area can get busy with both locals and visitors, with basic facilities, warungs, and parking available nearby.
