Ketewel.

Ketewel is a regional classic surf spot on Bali's east coast, about 2km from Padang Galak, known for its moody, tide-dependent reef break and scenic black sand beaches. It features an uneven lava reef bottom and delivers right-breaking waves that are hollow, fast, and powerful, offering exciting tube rides for advanced surfers. The waves work best in the wet season, from November to March, when the west and northwest monsoon blows offshore and a south swell meets a tide over 2 metres, although rides are typically short, under 50 meters. From April to October the swell is bigger but the trade winds blow onshore from dawn to dusk, so the wave is rarely worth it. Early mornings remain ideal due to lighter winds and fewer crowds, and the spot tends to be relatively uncrowded. Hazards include strong currents, undertow, sharp reef, submerged rocks, sea urchins, occasional pollution, and even sharks, so caution is strongly advised. Access can be tricky, so consulting a surf map is recommended. The spot is accessible by car or scooter, with parking available near the beach.
