Padma is an exposed sand-bottom beachbreak in front of Padma Resort on the Jalan Padma section of Legian Beach. Shifting sandbanks create lefts and rights, with the more powerful right favoured on larger swells and capable of barreling. Surf is commonly waist-high to overhead, with the best quality around head-high; at roughly one-and-a-half times overhead it can offer long performance walls, while double-overhead surf generally closes out. South to southwest swells and light easterly or east-northeasterly winds work best, particularly during the April-to-October dry season. Competent intermediates and advanced surfers should target mid-to-high tide, while low-tide barrels and heavier conditions are for experts.
