Airports Left is a world-class left-hand reef break situated just offshore from Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport, located further up the reef from Kuta Reef. The wave features two peaks that peel over a shallow, sharp coral reef, offering left-breaking rides that can run between 60 to 80 meters. While not as long or hollow as Kuta Reef, Airports Left handles a range of swell sizes from the south to southwest, making it a reliable option even on smaller days. Access is typically by local boat from the beach at Jalan Wana Segara, which helps manage crowds, though the spot can still get busy, especially during peak season, and localism may be present, so respect for locals is essential. The wave works best with a solid southwest swell and moderate east to northeast winds. Hazards include the shallow reef, strong currents, and sea urchins, requiring caution and respect. The beautiful setting and quality waves make it a must-surf destination for experienced surfers visiting Bali.
