Jimbaran.

Jimbaran is a sandy beach break located on Bali’s southwest coast, shielded by the Bukit cliffs from the swells that light up the rest of the island. The waves are generally soft and forgiving, making it ideal for beginners and longboarders. The bay offers long lines of white water, providing a safe environment for practicing pop-ups, and mid tide is the window that works, since the wave usually fades at high tide as backwash flattens it and the southern rocks sit close to the surface at dead low. While the beach can get busy during the high season, the lineup remains less crowded than Bali’s more famous reefs due to the lack of quality waves, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed. Occasionally, shore breaks appear during large southwest swells, and a few left-hand reef breaks near the headland can be found, though they are not of high quality. Local warungs line the beach, providing easy access to food and shade between sessions. The bay sits flat most of the time and only wakes up in the dry season when a large south to southwest groundswell wraps in, which is exactly when the Bukit reefs are too big to surf.
