Praia Areia Branca.

Praia Areia Branca is a wide Atlantic-facing beach break anchoring a stretch of coast that runs south from the small town of Areia Branca toward Santa Cruz. Sand-bottomed and open to the full sweep of the ocean, the beach throws up shifting peaks that peel both left and right depending on where the bank forms. The shape tends steep and the speed is genuine, making for punchy short rides rather than drawn-out sections - wave lengths typically stay in the 0-50m range. It responds to swells from the SW through to N, with NW the sweet spot, and goes cleanest on easterly winds. Because the beach sits on the southern, more sheltered side of the Peniche peninsula it picks up noticeably less swell than the headland breaks to the north, but more than Supertubos on a given day. That filter makes it a practical option when the famous spots nearby are oversized or maxed out. Access is straightforward - a free car park sits directly behind the beach. Rip currents are the main hazard to manage, as is standard on exposed sandy beaches of this size. The relative lack of crowd pressure compared to Peniche's headline breaks is the spot's real selling point; on most days there is genuine space in the water.
