Praia dos Pescadores.

Praia dos Pescadores breaks off the southern jetty at Espinho, locally called the 'molhe', which bends toward the NW rather than pointing SW like its neighbour. That bend slows and fattens the wave compared to Espinho proper, producing rights with a sustained wall and a tapering shoulder that runs into the channel beside the structure. The wave rarely barrels cleanly but gives intermediate surfers room to link turns across a 100-200m face before it flattens out. Down the beach away from the jetty, corners can push faster and punchier, though sections frequently close out and a trough off the sand complicates the paddle. The break fires best on NW swell at low to mid tide with an easterly wind keeping it clean. A stream entering near the jetty can carry polluted run-off after rain, and rip currents run alongside the structure. The sheltered lee of the jetty gives beginners a comparatively calm zone when swell is small, making this a more approachable alternative to Espinho's main peak. The crowd still builds - this stretch draws consistent numbers - but the lineup is noticeably more relaxed than the wave to the north.
