Capela is a shifting sand-bottom beach break beside the chapel and pier at Praia de Paramos. The main wave is a strong right starting beside the pier, with large drops, fast sections and occasional tubes. Sandbar alignment changes through the year, so peaks and wave quality can vary from week to week. The break is best suited to intermediate surfers, particularly when the powerful waves are running. Rocks, currents and nearby shorebreak require care around the chapel-side structures.
