Surf spot guide Β· North Portugal, Portugal
A short, rocky A-frame peak for experienced surfers when winter swell reaches Granja.
Granja is a short left-and-right A-frame peak breaking over a rocky reef bottom. Waves are usually under 50 metres, with better rides possible around 50-150 metres. It needs Southwest, West, or Northwest swell and generally favours East to Northeast winds and mid-to-high tide. The spot is best in winter, while the wider coast is most reliable from September through May. This is an intermediate-to-advanced wave with no obvious paddle-out channel, and the beach is often not surfable from shore.
