Shifting A-frame beachbreak with long walls, occasional barrels, and generally light crowds.
Esmoriz is a shifting sandy beachbreak producing A-frame peaks with both lefts and rights. Typical walls run 50-150 metres, extending to 150-300 metres when banks align. Smaller surf is forgiving for beginners and intermediates, while larger or better-shaped waves become fast, steep, and occasionally hollow. The beachbreak generally works from roughly 2 to 8 feet, with larger swells tending to close out. Autumn through winter offers the most reliable surf, especially from September to April.
