Caxias Surf Spot Guide — Lisbon, Portugal

Caxias is a fast, short left-hand point break with rides under 50 metres. It generally needs around 3-3.5 metres of swell and can hold 4 metres or more. The best setup is a large W-SW swell with N-NE winds. All tide stages can work, with rising and falling tides preferred. The wave breaks only around five days per year, so the lineup is usually exceptionally empty. Water quality and pollution are important concerns at Praia de Caxias.
