Praia CDS is a west-facing Atlantic beach break in Costa da Caparica, shaped by rocky concrete groynes and shifting sandbars. The jetties concentrate W-NW swell into several peaks producing both lefts and rights, with generally short rides under 50 metres. Conditions range from gentle waist-high waves to fast, hollow and powerful overhead surf, particularly in autumn and winter. It suits beginners with appropriate conditions but becomes demanding for intermediate and advanced surfers on larger swells. Surf schools, rentals and summer lifeguards serve this popular town beach.
