Samouco Surf Spot Guide — Beira, Portugal

Samouco is a sandy-bottom beach break producing both lefts and rights, with rights normally preferred as sandbanks change. Waves are hollow, fast and powerful, usually under 50 metres but reaching 50-150 metres on good days. It favours northwest, west, southwest and south swells, with south, southeast, east and northeast winds. Mid-to-high rising tides are generally the most favourable, and the break is best suited to experienced surfers.
