Powerful, hollow beach-break waves beside Nazaré’s fishing harbour.
Praia do Sul is a powerful sand-bottom beach break between Nazaré’s south breakwater and the Rio Alcoa mouth. Peaks break both left and right, with fast, sometimes tubular waves on larger swells. Typical rides are under 50 metres, extending to 50-150 metres on good days. It handles swells from roughly 1.5-2 metres upward and can hold waves above 4 metres. The beach is unpatrolled, with no bathing support, and access follows fishing-port operating rules.
