Praia do Osso da Baleia is a long, exposed Atlantic beach break on a sandy bottom, producing both lefts and rights. Normal rides are under 50 metres, with 50-150 metre rides possible on better days. West to southwest swell, especially west-southwest, combines best with east to east-southeast offshore winds. All tide stages are workable, and the beach can produce rideable surf year-round, with winter and particularly December offering the most consistent clean conditions. Smaller waves can suit beginners, while larger, more powerful surf requires stronger ocean competence.
