Exposed, consistent sandy beach break with long lefts and rights near Quiaios.
Murtinheira is an exposed, very consistent sand-bottom beach break producing both lefts and rights, with lefts generally favoured. Rides commonly reach 50-150 metres and can extend to 300-500 metres on good days. Northwest swell and southeast offshore wind provide the most consistently favourable setup, with mid tide preferred. The break works year-round, while winter-especially December-often brings the cleanest conditions but can become powerful and dangerous. It is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers and is accessed directly from the beach.

The beach is generally empty or rarely crowded, with few surfers even on weekends. Young people from Figueira da Foz also use the beach.
