Thomas Beach is a secluded and picturesque surf spot located between Uluwatu and Padang Padang on Bali's Bukit Peninsula. Favored by beginners and intermediates, it offers uncrowded waves that break more abruptly and uniformly over a coral reef, making it ideal for practicing basic surf skills, especially during mid-to-high tide and small to medium swells. The spot produces long, mellow lefts and occasional rights, though it is less suitable for advanced surfers seeking long rides. Best conditions occur during the dry season (April to October) with consistent S to SW swells and offshore SE to light easterly winds. Access has improved with a well-maintained path descending from the clifftop, but the entry remains somewhat challenging, contributing to the quieter vibe compared to neighboring spots. Hazards include strong currents, shallow and exposed reef, and sea urchins at low tide, so beginners are advised to surf with a school. The area features a few warungs and board rentals on the sand, typically around 100k IDR per hour.
