A shifting black sand peak west of the Pig Stone headland, giving a good left and a shorter right when the bank lines up.
Pig Stone Beach sits on Bali's west coast, an isolated stretch of black sand about 20 minutes west of Canggu between Kedungu and Yeh Gangga, reached down a road through rice fields. The Beach Break is the peak further west along the sand from the headland, a shifting bank that the guides rate as the better of the two Pig Stone waves on its day. When the sand has settled well it offers a good left and a shorter right with decent turn sections. It works on all tides, though the character changes: low tide runs faster and closes out more often, and the best tide really depends on the sand formation that day. The peak prefers small to medium swell, because anything larger overwhelms the bank. It is also highly sensitive to wind, so mornings are the window before the dry season trade turns sideshore. There are no warungs, no shops, no rentals and no lifeguards here, and the lineup is mellow with none of the aggressive localism found further south.

Look at the bank before you paddle out. This peak shifts with the sand and the best tide depends on how it has settled that day.
Surf in the morning. The dry season trade wind often turns sideshore later in the day.
Small to medium swell is what this bank wants. Anything larger overwhelms it.
March, April, October and November have the lightest winds here, so the shoulder seasons often beat mid dry season.
Park in front of the headland and walk west along the beach to reach this peak.
Bring your own food and water. There are no warungs, no shops and no board rental at Pig Stone.
