Yeh Gangga is a long stretch of black sand beach on Bali’s west coast, featuring multiple peaks and two main access points. The spot offers consistent and powerful waves with shifting sandbars that produce both lefts and rights separated by a channel. At low tide and with a solid swell, it becomes a heavy, hollow barrel machine favored by advanced surfers and pros, while mid-to-high tide provides fun, longer rides suitable for intermediates. The black sand beach and scenic rice field backdrop create a unique atmosphere blending traditional Balinese culture with modern amenities. While the vibe is welcoming with moderate crowds and less crowded than nearby hotspots, strong currents, submerged rocks, and occasional river runoff near the main car park require caution. Best conditions occur with a rising or high tide and a light easterly wind, with the swell most reliable from April to October.
