Surf spot guide · Bali, Indonesia
Pererenan is a popular right-hand reef break near Canggu known for barrelling waves and performance walls, offering fun, rippable waves ideal for all-day sessions, especially at high tide.
Pererenan offers a reliable left and right reef break just north of Canggu, popular among locals and traveling surfers. The spot is especially known for its barrelling right-hander and occasional lefts off the peak, with waves generally fast and powerful, suitable for maneuvers and occasional barrels. The right-hand wave can barrel on takeoff or provide a long, high-performance wall extending over 80 meters. It works best at mid to high tides, particularly high tide when the volcanic rock shelf is covered, as low tide exposes sharp, shallow reef and reduces wave quality. Access requires paddling through the shorebreak and channel, with parking available near Echo Beach. Crowds can be heavy, especially during the dry season, attracting a mix of experienced and intermediate surfers. The reef is sharp and shallow at low tide, so caution is advised. Facilities and warungs are nearby, making it a convenient surf destination.
