Surf spot guide · Bali, Indonesia
Black Stone breaks on the south side of the Nusa Gede headland at Nusa Dua, where backwash off the rock wedges the peak into a steep, fast take-off. It is mostly lefts with a short right off the peak, it wants mid tide and a small to medium wet season swell, and it holds something for every level from whitewater on the inside to overhead sections out the back.
High Waves
Large waves up to 2.7m expected at Black Stone. Peak conditions around 6:00 AM.
Exercise extreme caution when entering the water. Strong currents and large waves present. Warning valid until 9:00 PM.
Black Stone lies beside Geger in Nusa Dua, where southeast-facing reef contours focus Indian Ocean swells. It produces punchy, occasionally hollow waves with shorter rides than Bali's major west-coast points. The break is best suited to confident intermediates and advanced surfers because the reef is shallow and the takeoff zone can become powerful. Southeast swells during the dry season provide the most reliable surf, while west to northwest winds commonly offer cleaner conditions. Access is straightforward from the Geger beach area, although resort development and beach facilities surround the spot.

Bali
Mushroom Rock is a fast right-hander breaking off the southern isthmus at Nusa Dua, Bali. It is strictly a high-tide break and comes alive in the wet season, offering short, steep, hollow rides over coral and rock for confident intermediates and advanced surfers.
