Playa Conchalio.

Playa Conchalio stretches roughly a mile along the coast immediately west of La Libertad town, throwing up shifting A-frame peaks over a sand bottom that hides the occasional rock on the inside. The wave runs fast and hollow on small to medium swells, producing short barrel sections rather than long walls, and handles size from around knee-high up to overhead. At the far western end sits San Blas, an ultra-fickle right point that only lines up on a solid W swell and rewards patience with longer rides when it fires. The stretch sits in the shadow of nearby Punta Roca, which draws most of the travelling crowd, leaving Conchalio as a lower-pressure alternative for beginners warming up and intermediates hunting uncrowded peaks. Dry season delivers the cleanest conditions, with a northerly offshore grooming the swell pushing through the mid to high tide window. A stream runs onto the beach and carries runoff into the lineup after heavy rain, so sessions after downpours are best skipped. Roadside parking sits directly above the sand with easy beach entry.
