K61 is a right-hand point break that peels over a cobblestone and boulder bottom on the Costa del Balsamo coast, sitting about 500 meters west of its better-known neighbor K59. From the beach it looks like another clean point, but the reality is shiftier peaks, less-lined-up walls, and a noticeably longer paddle out to the takeoff. When an overhead S swell fills in, the wave stiffens up, getting hollower and heavier on the sets while still favoring medium-speed, performance-oriented walls over barrel sections. It works across the tide range on S through W swells with a northerly offshore, typical of the dry-season pattern between November and April. Access is via the K59 beach and a rocky, urchin-laden paddle that filters out casual surfers, so crowds stay low even when conditions are good. A guide or local knowledge is recommended for the entry. Neighboring K59 offers the cleaner, more lined-up alternative when K61 is disorganized.
