El Zonte.

El Zonte is a point-and-rivermouth setup where long, predictable rights peel down a cobblestone point that starts exposing boulders as the tide drops. The wave opens with a punchier outside takeoff and softens onto a workable wall that runs 200 to 500 metres on the right sets, with hollower sections when the swell lines up. When conditions get big enough, a sucky left fires on the opposite side of the bay, offering a sharper, more critical ride for stronger surfers. The vibe is mellower than the Libertad standards a few kilometres east, and the growing village has become a surf-camp hub that caters to all levels. Beach peaks around the corner give beginners and surf schools somewhere to learn. Entry is straightforward from the beach with roadside parking in town, though the rocky inside calls for care at lower tides. It works best on S to SW swells with a northerly offshore and from mid through high tide on the push.
