Fickle Atlantic beachbreak with hollow jetty lefts, occasional right wedges, and storm-season surf.
West End is a sand-bottom Atlantic beachbreak shaped by jetties and groins. Hollow lefts run off the rocks at low tide, while occasional right wedges appear when sandbanks align. It handles knee-high to double-overhead surf, with hurricane swells and nor’easters producing the strongest conditions. All tides can work, although low tide favors the hollow jetty lefts. The spot suits all abilities in suitable conditions, but large surf, strong sweep, and the rocky jetty environment are unsuitable for inexperienced surfers.
