Surf spot guide · NYC Tri-State, United States
Sand-bottom jetty beachbreak inside a paid Monmouth County park, the most reliable corner of the Long Branch stretch.
Seven Presidents Park sits at the heart of the Monmouth Beach to Long Branch jetty corridor and is the most workable section for surfers when the rest of the strip closes out or goes flat. Sand-bottom peaks bend off the rock groynes into varied lefts and rights with steep, faster takeoffs giving way to mellower, well-covered shoulders. The wave handles a wide swell window from NE through to S, holding shape from waist high up to about 3 metres. Lower stages of the tide on the incoming push line up the banks best, while a westerly offshore grooms the faces during cooler months. Unlike the harder access points up and down this coast, the park offers paid parking, lifeguards, restrooms and showers right above the sand, so paddle outs are short and predictable. Lineups stay reasonable on weekdays but fill in fast on weekends and during the late summer hurricane swell season.
Sand-bottom peaks off the groynes when the jetty corridor closes out elsewhere.

Crowds are moderate and rise sharply on weekends, holidays and any tropical-season swell. Weekday sessions usually offer enough room to spread along the jetties.
