Surf spot guide · NYC Tri-State, United States
Fast, hollow lefts beside a sandy-bottomed jetty on Long Beach.
Connecticut Street Jetty is an exposed breakwater wave on Long Beach near Atlantic Beach, New York. It is predominantly left-breaking over sand, with rock beside the jetty. Better swells produce hollow, fast, powerful waves, while larger surf can sweep surfers toward successive jetties. South swell and north wind offer the most favorable setup, with high and mid-tide conditions working best. Summer, especially August, is the most consistent period for clean surf.
Jetty-carved left wraps the sandbar where bay offshore meets barrier-island swell.
