Jenkinsons sits on the south side of Manasquan Inlet in Point Pleasant Beach, where deep water funneling toward the jetty bends incoming swell into a wedging, powerful left. Waves jack up fast against the sand bank, throw a short barreling section, then close out into a hard shoredump, so rides stay brief but vertical. The break only switches on with NE or E swell, ideally on the lower half of the tide, and a SW or W offshore cleans up the faces. Access runs across the privately-owned Jenkinsons boardwalk, which charges beach tags and posts guards who routinely keep surfers out of the water through the summer months, so the spot is mostly a fall, winter and storm-window wave. Bodyboarders make up a large share of the lineup and the takeoff zone shifts with each new sand cycle. Manasquan break, the right-hand mirror across the inlet, sits 400 metres north and is the regional standout when a S or SE swell is running.
