Arguineguín is a boulder bay on Gran Canaria's southern coast offering several distinct sections that fire together when a large W or SW swell fills in. La Derecha Misteriosa peels off the north end of the bay near the marina at high tide, delivering a fun, forgiving right-hander suited to all levels. Further south, the main playa section throws up a boulder right directly in front of the old football pitch and a complementary left angling toward the cement factory, both working best from low to mid tide. Rides across the bay regularly stretch 200 to 500 metres on the right swell, making it one of the longer practice canvases on the island. The wave is slopey and medium-paced with well-covered sections throughout, ideal for carving and linking turns rather than tube-hunting. Consistency is low -- the spot needs genuine size, typically 1 metre plus, before any section comes alive -- but when it does fire the crowd arrives quickly. A northerly wind is offshore across the whole bay.
