Esteiro de Xove.

Esteiro de Xove is a northwest-facing sand-bottom beachbreak tucked inside a deep bay on the Galician coast, about 10km east of Viveiro. The break delivers reliable left and right peaks, with the standout feature being a quality lefthander that peels into a semi-permanent channel beside the esteiro - the small river mouth that gives the spot its name. Waves are hollow and fast on the better sets, with steep takeoffs, wedging sections and enough punch to reward intermediate surfers who read the banks well. The spot works across all tides but sharpens up at low tide when the sandbars are more defined and the channel is most consistent; a solid NW swell of 0.6m to 2.4m is the sweet spot, though it will catch the edges of a large westerly groundswell when the main energy misses the bay. A southerly wind provides clean offshore conditions. The bay is backed by pine forest, making for a scenic session, and car parks and showers are on site.
