Oyambre.

Oyambre is a long sandy beachbreak set within the Parque Natural de Oyambre on the western Cantabrian coast, offering multiple shifting peaks along a broad, open bay. The bottom is sand throughout, producing well-covered, medium-paced waves that suit intermediate surfers looking for space to practice turns and build confidence. The shape sits between mellow and punchy depending on sandbar position, with steep take-offs on the better banks and crumbly sections when the swell wraps into the bay. The western end of the beach picks up some shelter from SW and W winds, giving it a slight edge during cross-shore conditions - though the break is smaller there due to reduced swell exposure. It fires best on a genuine NW swell in the 0.6-1.8m range. The Parc Natural context keeps development minimal and crowds thin - the beach rarely sees pressure even during summer, and the rolling hills and clean water make it a pleasant contrast to busier Cantabrian spots further east. Access is easy via a carpark at the beach with roadside overflow.
