Gerra.

Gerra is a sand-bottom beachbreak on the Cantabrian coast west of San Vicente de la Barquera, offering a long stretch of beach with multiple shifting peaks governed by the sandbars of the moment. Waves pitch steep faces on mid-range NW and W swells, running well-covered and medium-paced with the occasional punchy wall when the banks line up well. The break works across all tides, giving it a long window each day, though the peaks rearrange frequently and require reading the banks before committing to a section. Wave lengths of 50-100m give enough room for a proper top-to-bottom ride without the sprint of a faster, more critical break. A SE offshore cleans up the faces and is most reliable on winter mornings. The setting is genuinely rural - a wide open bay backed by green hills with only a surf school and camping area breaking up the farmland. San Vicente sits close enough to be convenient but far enough that the beach avoids the town crowds on most days.
