Furca is a named reef break off Caxinas, Vila do Conde, directly in front of Senhor dos Navegantes church. It produces a fast, powerful left over sharp rock reef, usually with rides under 50 metres but occasionally reaching 50-150 metres. The wave breaks intermittently and begins working around 1-1.5 metres, holding from approximately 2 metres upward. North to northwest swell and east to northeast wind provide the best conditions. Low to rising tide is preferred, and the sharp reef and sea urchins make it unsuitable for beginners.
